The bladder is opened and the prostate enucleated after breaking through the prostatic urethral mucosa. Overhanging mucosa is excised. Haemostasis is secured by diathermy coagulation and/or suture. The bladder can be closed with a perivesical drain. Transvesical prostatectomy has the advantage of being able to deal with any other concomitant lesion in the bladder. Emergency prostatectomy (Wilson Hey, 1945) advocated by Wells (1952) takes little account of renal insufficiency and carries with it a higher mortality in average hands.

We do this to relive ourselves from all the excess bodily liquid that we have and all trips in the john can be really satisfying, ain’t it? But there are those who feel like they are peeing too much. Especially men. They are already fast asleep but they get awaken at the middle night with the urgent need to pee. Gradually, these became habits that could not be prevented. They start to get really annoyingly alarming. After this, these men start to wonder: Is there something wrong with them? Unfortunately, yes. More often than not, these nocturnal pee breaks signify an enlarged prostate gland.
